Give Thanks To The Lord!!!

“I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:11-13
As I studied Scripture, I was troubled by the words of Paul in his letter to the Philippians. “How could a man endure hardships such as a shipwreck, persecution, beatings and a life in prison and still be content,” I thought? Reading on I found the source of Paul’s strength…Jesus Christ. I could not survive the trial of divorce and separation through my own efforts or strength. I needed Jesus Christ to strengthen me for the battle raging against my family. I found my joy in reading Scripture and being comforted by the promises of God’s blessings and mercy. Over time, I came to the point where I could embrace my sufferings and accept them as a molding and shaping of my faith and character. God was making me into the person that He wanted me to be. I could honestly thank and praise Him for allowing me to suffer this agony for His greater purpose. I linked my sufferings with the sufferings of Christ on the cross. Christ overcame death and through His blood shed on the cross, I could overcome the death of my marriage.
“‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:55-58
Your suffering is not in vain. Your victory is through our Lord Jesus Christ! Stand firm, dear Brother and let nothing move you. Give yourself and your family over to the work the Lord is accomplishing in your home and marriage. “Pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18
“Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and
strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!”
