About Me

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (KJV)

MY STATEMENT OF FAITH:

1- There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality.

2- Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Hence, He is perfect Deity and true humanity united in one person forever.

3- He lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for the sins of men by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone.

4- He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He lived and died.

5- He ascended bodily into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own.

6- Man was originally created in the image of God. He sinned by disobeying God; thus, he was alienated from his Creator. That historic fall brought all mankind under divine condemnation.

7- Man’s nature is corrupted, and he is thus totally unable to please God. Every man is in need of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

8- The salvation of man is wholly a work of God’s free grace and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justified them in His sight.

9- It is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ as their Savior. This assurance is not based upon any kind of human merit, but is produced by the witness of the Holy Spirit, who confirms in the believer the testimony of God in His written word.

10- The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to men. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth and seals them until the day of redemption. His fullness, power and control are appropriated in the believer’s life by faith.

11- Every believer is called to live so in the power of the indwelling Spirit that he will not fulfill the lust of the flesh but will bear fruit to the glory of God.

12- Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, His Body, which is composed of all men, living and dead, who have been joined to Him through saving faith.

13- God admonishes His people to assemble together regularly for worship, for participation in ordinances, for edification through the Scriptures and for mutual encouragement.

14- At physical death the believer enters immediately into eternal, conscious fellowship with the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting glory and blessing.

15- At physical death the unbeliever enters immediately into eternal, conscious separation from the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting judgment and condemnation.

16- Jesus Christ will come again to the earth (personally, visibly and bodily) to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.

17- The Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to disciple men of every nation. The fulfillment of that Great Commission requires that all worldly and personal ambitions be subordinated to a total commitment to “Him who loved us and gave Himself for us.”

18- I believe the Bible (the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments) is the Word of God, written. As a “God-breathed” revelation, it is thus verbally inspired and completely without error (historically, scientifically, morally, and spiritually) in its original writings.

Galatians 2:20 has no period after the word “me” as you have written. Read it from the King James. The niv is man’s idea of the Word of God, not, God’s Word. I don’t own an niv, but I would not doubt that the authors of that version changed Paul’s text to read as you have quoted. Paul goes on to say: “…and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live BY THE FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Sir, you say I am “saved” by my faith, that is wrong. I am saved by (His) Grace through (His) Faith! I live by the faith of the Son Of God, Paul writes! See the difference? I come to God by my faith (it’s not really my faith but his gift to me) and then I am given the Faith Of The Son Of God! What a Saviour! I don’t live by my faith sir, I live by His! Huge difference! I cannot lose or gain salvation by any work of the flesh; for In Christ I am no longer in the flesh, but in the Spirit. (Rom.8:9) Sir, you are a false teacher. Read John 10. Jesus declares Himself to be The Good Shepherd. His sheep know His voice and they follow Him, a stranger, (that would be you) they will not follow. In Christ. David Buckwitz, Hazel Park, Michigan.

    • lumel says:

I really don’t understand what you are saying and to call me a false teacher based on one chapter of the Bible is mind boggling. I have change it just for you and it so happens that also in the KJV there is a period after “me”. I will also let you know that I am a KJV reading man too I just happen to do a copy and paste and never really notice and never thought someone will call me a false teacher for it. Now what did Jesus meant when he said “have faith”?

      • David Buckwitz says:

Nope, no period after “me” in the KJV of Gal.2:20…I think it’s called a colon. Anyone who teaches, you can lose your salvation is a false teacher, don’t listen to them.(Gal.1:6-10) Use this test on all doctrine of men: does this teaching point to Christ or does it point to me?, does it glorify Christ or does it glorify me? For me to say I can keep my salvation by some sort of behavior glorifies me, not Christ; make sense? One might go so far as to say if there’s no such thing as “eternal security” is it really “eternal”? or “secure” for that matter! One of The Lord’s Character traits I love the most, He always deals in absolutes! Have you ever noticed that? (light, darkness, lost, found, sheep, goats, belief, unbelief, righteousness, unrighteousness) Man deals in exceptions. With man there is always a gray area. Man excludes, he’s exclusive by way of his (rules, creeds, dogmas, denominations, acceptable behaviors) all of it designed to “keep me” from “them”. Mans behavior has never impressed God, it is mans “believing” that He loves. Right believing gives birth to right behavior, not the other way around. Look at Jude 1:5 it says that after the Lord delivered the people out of the land of Egypt He destroyed them that “believed not”. I cannot “stagger” at the promises of God neither should you. Look at Paul’s statement in Rom.4:20-21 concerning Abraham: “He staggered not at the promise of God through “unbelief”; but was strong in faith; giving glory to God…….” ( what?, strong in faith! giving glory to God!? but didn’t Abraham lie to King Abimelech and tell him falsely that Sarah Abraham’s wife was his sister?) This is the man God calls “strong in faith” and “giving Glory to God”? Yep! Why? All for love. Paul says in Rom.4:3 “For what saith the scripture? Abraham “believed” God and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” Jesus was made sin for us not because of his behavior, for he knew no sin. We are in the same way made righteous, not by our behavior, but by His behavior. See how it all points to Christ and not us? I’m pretty sure that’s the job of The Saviour! Sorry if I came on too strong…I’ll work on my people skills. In Christ, David Buckwitz.

Ooohhhh!!! So I see now, your one of those who believe the heresy that “carnal christian” like to believe of “once saved, always saved” well I believe that it is impossible to be a Christian at the same time as being an adulterer, drunkard, thief, or such as is cited in 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Rev. 21:8; Eph. 5:5-7; Mk. 7:20-22. To teach that such is possible is to twist the holy image of being a Christian (a saint) into something which allows for wickedness. Eternal security is a dangerous myth, which has many on the road to hell thinking they are on the road to heaven.

        Security is conditional:

        1 John 2:24:
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. “IF” that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

        Hebrews 3:14:
        For we are made partakers of Christ, “IF” we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

        John 15:10:
“IF” ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

        John 15:2:
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he TAKETH AWAY: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

        God bless.

      Good day Mr Buckwitz,

Although you did not exactly point which part it was that seems to be a mistake, i assumed it was in statement 12. It may not be complete, as in the Bible, but I would say that Mr Lumel using ‘through’ and not ‘by’ .. saving faith…xxx only means that he was not referring to being saved ‘by faith’. You may say, “but we can’t omit anything that the Scripture has written, otherwise we’ll be held accountable for it”. And I would agree with that. Maybe the lesson that we can learn from here is this: the we must always be critical of the words we choose as it may be interpreted in a different way by those who are not deeply rooted to the principles of the Scriptures. In other words, for the sake of baby believers, we must try our hardest to be Biblically (politically, terminologically) correct. For us who know it in our hearts, please be gentle in correcting, if there is anything at all that needs to be corrected. And please do not judge. I am very keen on language myself. These are mistakes that scholars and intellectuals see, that most christians do not. And yet those who are not really politically correct are those who know God more and live holy lives. It is good that you are trying to clarify things and yet cancelled it out as well by judging. I hope we all are renewed by our God so we speak as one voice in proclaiming God’s love.

      • David Buckwitz says:

Mr. Mondero, Well said. I like to think of doctrinal exchanges as “contending for the faith”….. however from now on I will strive to contend with “principles” not “personalities”. David Buckwitz, Hazel Park, Mi.

  6. David Buckwitz says:

“Could it be possible that God would so love an individual as to give his own son to die for him and still love him to the extent of following him with the pleadings and drawings of his grace until he has won that soul into his own family, created him anew by the impartation of his own divine nature: and then be careless as to what becomes of the one he has thus given his all to procure?” L.S. Chafer

  7. kent mondero says:

erratum : in my previous statement “the” should have been “that” in the line: “Maybe the lesson that we can learn from here is this: the we must always …xxx”

I noticed that the argument is taking quite it’s share of spaces here. i do not want to be another corner of this. But then I believe both of you do not want it as well. I hope this will be settled soon.

to Mr Lumel, was it you who composed ‘before the day’ and the one who sung it live on the piano?

simple words were used and yet the song was just amazingly beautiful, you know it’s written from the heart. i hope i can write a song like that. inside me is a longing to utter the true desires of my heart to please the heart of my loving saviour.

i want to have a copy of the song. can u please tell me what the name of the album is? i’ll look for it at our local music stores. thank u.

Hi LuMel and thank you for making these great videos available. There is much deception in the world today and we need to hear the truth from Bible-believing preachers such a John Piper, John MacArthur and Paul Washer, who all say it like it is without washing down the Word of God.
Do you have part-5 of John MacArthur’s ‘Does the Truth Matter Anymore?’. All five parts are available for free download from: http://www.gty.org/Resources/Videos – but they have combined parts 3-5 and when I download it gets halfway and then I get an error message. I now have part 4, thanks to you, and just need part 5.

    Lord bless

The Bible does not teach that one can lose his/her salvation. The Bible is quite clear that it is the Lord who choses and saves whom He wishes. This was done prior to the foundation of the world. Romans makes this plainly clear. It’s a false gospel to preach that one can lose salvation.

A dead man cannot desire life. The dead man is just that, dead. It’s impossible for a dead man to even realize that he’s lost. Only by the Spirit of God giving the faith will desire develop. To indicate that man can, on his own free will (by the way free will isn’t a part of scripture, man is totally enslaved to sin, completely and utterly a slave, being lost) accept Christ (which is also a false teaching, as we don’t accept Christ, we receive) is nonsense and should be rejected completely.

  12. Hello Lumel, brother in Christ!

I am writing to you from Poland (where Roman Catholicism has been a state religion for over 1000 years). I must admit that I found your website and videos on youtube very encouraging. I used to be Catholic, but when I started reading the Bible, with each passing day I was discovering more and more discrepancies between the Bible and the teachings of Catholicism. I had to make the choice whether to believe the Word of God or the Roman Catholic Church and eventually I left it. I decided to believe what the Bible says. I thank you for what you do, especially for your video about purgatory on youtube. Thank God I know English well enough to read King James Bible and to understand my Christian brothers from USA. I started also my website where I deal mostly with Roman Catholicism and defense of biblical account of creation (www.creation4004.com). God bless!
